Melancholy

I really wish I could delay this post because I thought I have another 'life and death' matter that really need my urgent attention-my thesis. But I have to make an exception as today my head felt like its going to burst if I didn't let this one out of my head. It kept playing in my head like an annoying Gaga~ish song I've been trying to get rid of but I can't coz it was played repeatedly all day long like a broken records.

Few questions I would like raise today: What will you do if the only place that you're going to spend half of your life becoming more and more 'unlikeable' for you? Not because you hate the uncontrollable aircond temperature or anything for that matter. Nowadays, office politics has become too much for me to handle.. not even after 2++ good years working in an academic line. All I can say is, can we all just work happily together and mix harmoniously under one big roof? Why complicate certain issues and make it seriously political? Do we really want to forge an ethnic based competition into a supposedly 'healthy' academic environment? How can we overlook the importance of providing the most quality educations to the students and maintaining our intellectual stands on certain issues at the same time? Evaluating ones credibility and potential based on the terms 'favoritism' or racial preference are not only affecting your profesionalism but also reveals whether you are striving for your own self-interest or of common interest. My dear fellow Sarawakian, really?

Of course I can't always expect everything to be sugarcoated or a mixture of sugar, spice and everything nice. This type of situation always bound to happen anywhere I guess. This is in fact, a reality of life. Just deal with it Aya, and move on no matter what you hear or see. Just remember, “Basically we are all the same human beings with the same potential to be a good human being or a bad human being ... The important thing is to realize the positive side and try to increase that; realize the negative side and try to reduce. That's the way.” (Dalai Lama)
